Being There

In a world that’s becoming more and more connected with each passing day, there’s this feeling of isolation that’s shared among almost everyone I know. It both fascinates and horrifies me — the thought that “isolation” might be the great unifier. In my isolation, I look for beauty in the quiet moments and in things that have become forgotten, and I use photography as a way of showing ordinary things that generally would go unnoticed or be overlooked.

I want my work to feel like a reminder of what came before us as well as give a feeling of being seen and heard in a world that is swiftly steering towards homogeny. I hope it brings a sense of peace amongst the non-stop inundation of advertising and social media postings we’ve been conditioned to think of as “normal”. I want it to transport people to that feeling when the world slows down and you can just breathe.
